The bicentenary of Chile

Chile such as other Latin American countries meets two hundred years of independence, two centuries of effort for build a state and a nation after of to be colony of the Spain.  In this essay I want reflect the meaning of this celebration, a celebration that can be used for think, for wining legitimacy politic or just for enjoy of show.  I think that itself 200 years don’t mean anything, but is interesting analyze how a date is the event more important of the year.

First, I want to point that the real bicentenary of the independence of Chile will be in 2018, celebrate in the 2010 haven’t meaning, being that in the in 1810 just was the first “Meeting of Government”, but this haven’t eagerness of independence, but of keep the loyalty of the King of Spain. Thus, what we are celebrating birthdays? Very people ask themselves, but the tradition weighs more than reflect.

Other point is: are we independent?  In formal term yes, we aren’t colony, we choose our rulers, but the link between Chile and the world, specifically with the great power is very potent. The global economic crisis has taught us that we are sensitive and dependent at the environment, especially to the capital invested into of Chile and outside of Chile.

In Chile the bicentenary has been held with different activities, for example: collection of photos, symposia, academic books about bicentenary, big event, ceremonies, and especially speeches; promises, commitments and illusions, speeches such as political campaigns that generate hope. But anyone (or very few) has the “mea culpa” for to be an underdeveloped country, in the official speeches there aren’t errors, anything want assume responsibility, neither the politicians, nor entrepreneurs, nor the workpeople, even the citizenship.

Finally, the bicentenary is a date that could have substance, could have a real meaning, and could to be point of reference for change, but is just date such as other dates, other year that we continue believe promises, in that we continue being the spectators of the status quo and celebrate these that don’t understand, but to be happy, believing that the development make themselves.

My second activity

In this publication that is free, I will write about my second activity (the first is the university). This subject in many cases I avoid discuss it because is sensible philosophically and religiously. But, as end this semester and believe that anyone or few will read my publication I will venture write of this.

The subject is paranormal issues, dead, or specifically the medium, because I am a medium, ergo, I “see” and I communicate with persons died. How I came to this? Is a long history, but I have to say that I before was incredulous about this, and for very years I avoid feel “things” because I don’t understand that were and confused me.

Currently I dedicate time to this, learn about the universe, about life and died, because I can communicate with beings that are not human died, are beings that live in other dimensions, in other places. The communication is mental, I think and they “hear me”, they think and I “hear”. For this is necessary train or practice controlling the thoughts, because everything you think you communicated, although are silly thing or decontextualized ideas.

Doing this I have had many successes, I have been able of to say specific thing about a person that I don’t know, diseases, intentions, thoughts… but I am not doing this always, I need concentration for doing. Or have been able of change the odds the tossing a coin, and other things.

There are times that I need help of the being, or sometimes I can make thing by myself. You think perhaps that I am crazy, can be… really I don’t demand that other persons believe me, I cannot think that this is the absolute true, hence I talk this subject humbly.

About the ecology

I am not green or a ecologycal person, I haven't custom because I live thinking in other things; university, boyfriend, me, my friends, etc. However, I believe that don't think in the ecology is a problem, is a personal problem, economical problem, society problem, because is any very important, the discussion world in this days is for a environmental security, being than the humanity don't know if in 25 or 50 years will have resourses for live. The city we have living artificially, we have everything at hand; water, light, paper, oil, gas, clothes, table, computer, etc. and we are unaware that all was taken of the nature.

I have taken the initiative, or my family has taken the initiative of recycle organic waste in my garden. Thus we taken the waste of the kitchen, remains of vegetables or fruits and we buried under ground. We wet the ground since the wastes have been degraded. This is very good for nurture the soil. Nevertheless, now we don't, for declect, and I am not in my house much.

On the other hand, I have though use bike, but I live very far of the center, and the majority of my activities are there. Further, in the street haven’t bike trails and the motorist are very surly and possessive with runway, this is danger. Also, with bike I sweat and in my school haven’t dressings with shower.

In Chile don't learn about ecology, this isn't in the program in the school, nor there is a policy that attemp include the object environment in the live the persons. Anyway, now is easy to get information with internet. Our passivity, if we want help to keep our environment could do it looking necessary information. We should begin for have more recycling plants, for to do something with all the tons that we discard.

The miners

Is true. Few of we thought that miners was live when had passed several days and we thought that they don't had oxygen in the mine. Nevertheless, they were live.

The case of miners put to Chile in the center of attention of press of the world, the camping installed alongside the mine San José was filled of parent of the miners and journalist that wanted know everything for send the report to its newspapers and channel of television. From this, we knew that several miners of the mine San José that had worked here had been victims of industrial accidents.

This called the attention of some journalist, who began to know the previous victim of the job insecurity and that wasn’t then known, such as successful with very miners and other workers, that is exposed to accidents o diseases.

Beyond of the overexposure of the President Piñera for this issue, the accident of the 33 miners made visible the fragile situation of the workers in Chile, in the construction, in the agriculture, in the buses, even in the offices. I think that important thing is improve our legislation and state capacity of to be present monitoring and fiscalizing. Further, the entrepreneurs have to be more committed with their workers, because without them cannot continue producing.

Recently had appeared in television that the company that will buy the mine San José is pressing for the indemnification that has to pay to workers is in shares, despite that the legislation says that the indemnification have to in one pay…

The Guardian: Alcohol more harmful than heroin or crack

The issue of drugs is a subject that has not stopped discuss, owing to the controversies that involve take a approach more conservative or more liberal.

This week, “The Guardian” published a new about Alcohol, as a drug more harmful than heroin or crack, information that was published by the respected Lancet medical journal, and it put in problems to government of United Kingdom, because this sacked to David Nutt (drug adviser and author of published) the last year, for challenge ministers refusal to take the advice of the official Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, which he chaired.

The Nutt’s paper is a challenge for the government in the subject of regulation of legal and illegal drugs. Logical says that should restrict the drug more harmful, but, the political say that have to satisfy the people, and politicians get more votes. What happened if the alcohol was banned such as crack? This is politically viable? I don’t think so. Wherefore the government of UK preferred sacked to Nutt before restrict the consumption of alcohol. In addition, the cases of prohibition as “Law Dry” in the United States of America hasn’t been successful, the people anyway consumed alcohol in black marked.

Also, let's not forget that large economic groups feed on income of the consumption of the legal drug. They would agree that their products are legal, because they can exist. Instead the producers of illegal drugs have to be hidden of the state.

My favorite places

I live in Santiago Chile since I was born,  in spite of not knowing all places in Santiago, I believe that I know enough sites. I like the quiet places, where I can talk, enjoy the landscape or to think calmly. Here I will mention some of these sites;

The Almagro Park

Is in San Diego's neighborhood, next to Santa Isabel street. There is a church in the end the park, which called "La Parroquia del Santísimo Sacramento", it is a copy of the Church of the Sacred Hearts that is in París. They stated to build in 1912, but thay have never has finished it. This church is part of the pleasant landscape.

The park is long, crosses several street but not very large. In this places you can enjoy grass meadows, and space for walk. For me this place is special, because here began my current relationship.
Another attraction are locals where they sell books.

Cerro Santa Lucía

This is a hill located in the center of Santiago, in the Alameda street, and was a milestone in the age of Pedro de Valdivia (spanish who came to conquer this territory in the century XVI). This hill have a altitude of 629 meters, it have path and viewpoints where you can see top the city.

In the place there is several turists and lovers. In adittion, there are many sites for sit and contemplate.

I have to write about movies, but I don't know so much about this matter. I have seen movies like everyone else, but I am not good at making comments about them. So, now, after thinking about what I could write in this occasion, I have remembered the good times that I have ever had watching the videos of Plan Z, and the happy moments this program has brought me.

Plan Z is a program of TV that was televised in the decades of 90 in Chile for a new channel called "Channel 2", in the that was led by a group of the young creative professional that expressed  their opinions about what was happening in the country.

Chile had just recovered it democratic government after of the dictatorship of Pinochet, so they really said what they thought without censorship.

Planz Z used a acid humor, there is very very good the video about "The Institute Aplaplac" that represented to new  private educational center which proliferated in the government of Pinochet, which were famous of not having good quality.
